The cloth rises from the vat carrying a greenish cast. For a few breaths it appears undecided. Then oxygen reaches the dye and the surface settles toward blue.

This pause is part of the work. We open each fold, keep the cloth moving, and wait for the color to become even before returning it to the liquid.

Depth is built through repetition rather than force. Six immersions make a clear sky blue. Twenty bring the color inward. At thirty, the cloth begins to hold the quiet darkness of the vat itself.
